Hydro Help    Hydro Website

(with the assistance from our local Hydro Office)
  1. Use your house phone when calling (it confirms your location for hydro personnel) Using a cell phone could create confusion or misdirection of resources to help. As long as Manitoba Hydro has been advised of your cell phone number and it’s been added to your house account, then a customer can use their cell #.

  2. Customers can also submit their power outage using our website. Again, use your home or cell number when submitting the outage.

  3. When customers call our1-888-624-9376 phone number and speak to a representative to advise of the outage, any other information that you can provide is always appreciated (heard loud bang, sparking wire, tree on line).

  4. If you are aware that others in your vicinity are without power as well indicate this as well. Hydro assumes if it is one call it is one individual customer and prioritizes accordingly. Manitoba Hydro also would benefit from life support information. If you currently use life-saving equipment on a regular basis at your home, please contact our local office and advise of the equipment and if there is back-up generator in the event of a power outage.

  5. If you report a street light out (for example at the South end Big Island Highway access) This will make it clear which equipment is out as the street lights are tied to the main power line. Also, another way to report streetlights out would be to provide the pole # (BAR CODE eg; 1-170-698) each pole has one, on which the light is found.
